The CW15, equipped with the LY1B-Ku, completed flight tests, demonstrating the effectiveness of its lightweight SAR remote sensing combination.
Recently, our company's CW15 vertical takeoff and landing fixed-wing UAV, equipped with the Lingyun 1B-Ku Ku-band miniature synthetic aperture radar, completed a flight test experiment. All technical indicators met the expected standards throughout the process, and the compatibility and comprehensive operational capabilities of the two were fully verified.

I. Performance Advantages of the LY1B-Ku
The LY1B-Ku miniature SAR weighs only 2.7kg, perfectly meeting the payload requirements of small UAVs. Utilizing a Ku-band frequency-modulated continuous wave system, it achieves ultra-high resolution imaging better than 0.5 meters. The system simultaneously supports strip, spotlight, and hybrid imaging modes; it can achieve single-polarization and full-polarization acquisition, and with real-time imaging capabilities, it can meet the remote sensing needs of various scenarios.
II. Platform Compatibility
The CW15 serves as the platform, achieving a high degree of compatibility with the Lingyun 1B-Ku. The UAV's maximum takeoff weight is 16.5kg, and its 3kg payload capacity precisely matches the radar's weight. The modular design of the fuselage, along with folding arms and a quick-locking device, facilitates easier installation and transportation. It also supports fully autonomous flight and is easy to operate.
III. Endurance and Imaging
Endurance and imaging performance were highlights of this test. Even with the Lingyun 1B-Ku as a mount, the CW15 maintained a maximum endurance of 180 minutes. Its cruising speed of 61km/h enables large-scale, long-duration remote sensing operations without frequent resupply. In terms of imaging, the system outputs 0.2m-level high-definition images with clear outlines and rich details, high target scattering feature recognition, and real-time imaging capabilities, providing instant data acquisition. Positioning and radiation information closely match the actual scene.
The success of this test confirms the technical feasibility of combining lightweight SAR with a long-endurance UAV. The combination of the CW15 and Lingyun 1B-Ku radar offers high precision, long endurance, and high adaptability, making it widely applicable in fields such as land surveying, pipeline inspection, and camouflage assessment, providing efficient and flexible solutions for remote sensing operations across various industries.
